Framing...unframing...framing...unframing...

So, I’m getting ready for my next exhibit, which I’m calling “Wanderlust.”  I have 20 pieces in the show; this time I’ve decided to exhibit a mix of my Alternative Reality, Architecture+Design, and Africa Dreamed/Spirit of Humanity collections.  You’d never guess how long it can sometimes take to get a single image ready for showing.  I do all my matting and framing myself with archival quality materials – acid and lignin-free hinging tissue to non-destructively attach the photograph to the matboard, and of course, archival quality mats and matboard.  Anyway, I finished matting one particular photograph, inserted it into the frame, and voila!  Well, should have been a completed piece, but wait!  There was a long black hair…clearly, one of mine… beneath the glass, clearly visible against the bright white mat…  Unframe it, take out the hair, reframe it….  And, now, misaligned photograph…  Unframe it, reframe it, another hair!  How many times do I have to go through this???!!!

Anyway, I finally finished all 20 pieces today, packed them up, and ready to delivery tomorrow to the Gaithersburg Arts Barn!  By the way, you’re all invited to the opening reception, which is on December 1st, but if you can’t make it, please do stop by, as the exhibit will be up for 2 months from November 6-January 4!  (Click on the photo below for more info.)
