Beginning-Level Photography Workshop on August 14th: Light and Motion - Photographing the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair

An of ISO 100 and aperture of f/13 were just the right combination to give a shutter speed of 6.0 sec, allowing the camera to capture this Freak Out carnival ride at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair several times along its entire length, resulting in the blur of color shown here.

I’m going to be teaching another 4-hr workshop on Saturday, August 14, 2010 on Light and Motion: Photographing the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. This is a BEGINNING level workshop.

Amidst the bright lights, noises, and bustling activity of the Montgomery County carnival, we’ll explore the absolute fundamentals of photography: the exposure triangle – the interrelationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, and how to manipulate these three elements to make drastically different-looking images. Learn to use aperture to control depth-of-field, and shutter speed to freeze or blur movement. Nighttime is one of the best moments to learn to creatively use these elements to achieve infinite possibilities of artistic vision. Also learn your camera controls and delve into commposition on site and with our after-shooting photo critique!
