Almost-3-year-old Evan and his dad, Al, and I met up at the beginning of the month at Manassas National Battlefield Park in Virginia. In our initial telephone consultation, Al told me he wanted to have the portrait session in an outdoor, park-like venue, and I suggested Manassas National Battlefield Park. With its vast expanses of waist-high grass…textured red stone house and bridge…dirt roads and lush forests, what an awesome location for a “daddy & me” portrait photography session! And with fall in the air, little Evan had fun walking the wall of the stone bridge, kicking up fallen autumn leaves, and peeking through the blades of red, yellow, and green-toned grass. But you know what it is that I’ll never forget about this session? It’s the look on Al’s face and the distinct catch in his voice when Evan ran towards him, and Al gathered him up in a hug, saying “I love you so much.”
Enjoy the photographs below, and make sure you scroll down to the bottom to see Al & Evan’s holiday card design and Artsy Couture Gallery Block!!!
This is the front and back of Al & Evan’s holiday cards for this year, printed on art paper.
And this is their Artsy Couture “Center Stage” Gallery Block. The 14-photo collage edge of the piece is adhered to a block of wood that serves as the backboard, and then the center photograph is adhered to a second block of wood that floats off the first block, resulting in a truly unique piece of multi-dimensional art. The photographs are printed on metallic paper with a protective and glare-removing coating, and all photographs wrap around the edges of their respective blocks. I just received Al & Evan’s gallery block, and WOW, it is STUNNING!!!

Awesome work! I love the wide shots especially the third shot down! What a great set!
